A Typical Day
Life with a three year old and an infant equals unpredictable! I have figured out that whenever I have a plan, they have other plans for me. So, this morning I woke up to two sick kids, both of which were not happy. Lexi was upset because she had a runny nose, she ran around the house screaming "I got snot". Anna Kate was cranky because she had snot as well and could not breath when she was trying to eat, she was getting so mad. After cleaning Lexi's nose with 89337484 tissues, I broke out the "bulb" to get Anna Kate's snot under control, for those of you that have kids you know what the "bulb" entails, lots of crying! Getting Lexi dressed always creates a problem, she never wants to wear anything except dresses. So pulling out jeans for her to wear this morning created all sorts of problems! After a fight she finally kept the jeans on, but proceeded to let me know that her daddy was her favorite. That is good to know and I am glad it hasn't changed, since I hear this at least 10 times a day. As you can tell she has Jeff wrapped, he always let's her have her way. Brushing her teeth is a whole different kind of fight, one I choose to block from my memory! Moving on to breakfast time, Lexi never wants to eat if she is going to MeMe's house, she waits to eat when she gets to MeMe's, because I guess MeMe's cereal, which is the same cereal we have, is so much better! Now, trying to get out the door is the hard part. Lexi runs on one speed when you need to be somewhere, that speed is "slow". Thank goodness Anna Kate is not mobile yet, I am sure that will create more "slowness" when the time comes! I get the bags ready the night before, because if not we would never make it. Between us three girls we have seven bags, yes, seven! I have a purse and pumping bag. Lexi has a snack bag and a bookbag that she takes to preschool, not to mention her purse full of important items, lip glosses and such. Anna Kate of course has the diaper bag and her fozen milk bag. I mean really, I envy the hubs that gets to leave in the morning with just his keys and wallet! There you have it, I am ready for a nap before we even get out the door. Oh, and I didn't even try to tame Lexi's hair this morning, I was just simply too tired to care, so if you saw my child at school with crazy hair, I confess I am one slack mom!

ReplyDeleteHaha!
I can SO relate, although getting boys ready is so much easier. We have had colds here too and I think all of us are just about over it. Thank God! Now, Stokes has a stomach virus. We were at Our Children's Clinic for 4... yes 4 hours this morning/afternoon. Lovely. We have to go back tomorrow, after I get Tanner off to preschool, after I have to have a root canal. Oh yes. Us mommies never catch a break. I hope the girls become "snot-free" soon!
ReplyDeleteThat is so funny...yall are seriously making me reconsider having another! haha
